Easy to care for

Seeing the roots grow is not only fascinating, but also beautiful. Looking after plants in water is also very easy. All you need to do is ensure that the water is and remains fresh!

Display

Because the focus is on the roots, it’s fun to display the plant in water in glass. This can be done in various forms and sizes, from a test tube to a large vase. It is also trendy to place the glass on an LED light so that the plant is illuminated.

Do it yourself!

Perhaps you have grown cuttings in water before. They will then probably continue to grow if they are potted in soil. Certain cuttings can last much longer in water, such as Clusia rosea Princess, Syngonium and Monstera.

To start, you can opt for a cutting or a houseplant. By carefully cleaning the roots of the houseplant it can happily continue to grow in water. Do make sure that the plant is able to grow in water:

  • Make sure there is only a shallow layer of water in the glass. Only the roots need to be under water;

  • Never place the plant itself in the water, not even part of the stem;

  • Also leave the top part of the roots free of water so that they can breathe;

  • The roots will take up the water as required; they therefore regulate it themselves;

  • Never leave the plant without water, top up regularly;

  • Refresh all the water at least once every three weeks.
