In September 2019, the flower trade of Jan van Paridon was taken over by Heemskerk Flowers in Rijnsburg. Jan brought six colleagues into the company — one of them being Cees Heemskerk. Cees has been an account manager for 14 years and is known for his sunny personality and love of warm weather. He especially enjoys the Italian sun, and together with his wife and four children, he makes time for the garden and household tasks.
Cees comes from a family with three brothers. His father Jan Bart Heemskerk was a rose buyer at Verbeek and Bol in Aalsmeer. All three of his brothers worked in flowers. Some of them are doing something different now but selling flowers is stuck in the name.
Because of his steadfastness, strong opinion and loyalty, Cees Heemskerk is an account manager with his heart in the right place. His customers are one of the most important parts of his work. He therefore spends most of his time on this. He likes approaching customers the most. Lots of contact and communication around a customer's order. Cees considers monitoring the order picking hall and checking freshness and quality to be the most important. “My clients only get the best of the best. Through intensive contact with customers I can build a personal relationship and over time I know exactly what my customers want or expect.
The best thing about working as a flower seller is the contact with the customers. In addition, it is very nice to experience the diversity of the seasons. Every season has its favorite; in the summer, for example, I really like the knight's gate, campanulas or a spirea to work with.
When I ask Cees at the end of the conversation; What can I wake you up for at night? Cees says very directly; "Not much. Let me sleep well at night. Hahaha! "
