In 1998, Gerda took her first steps at the Bouquet department of Heemskerk Flowers. Day in, day out, she worked on the production line, splitting spray carnations, lilies, and roses into smaller bouquets. It was a tough job where speed and precision were rewarded. But Gerda embraced the challenge and quickly proved herself.
From distribution to leadership in Aalsmeer
After eight years, in 2006, a new opportunity arose: a position in the distribution of incoming products. Alongside colleagues Richard van der Meij and Jan van Egmond, Gerda ensured that all flowers arriving from the auctions were inspected and allocated. Her dedication did not go unnoticed. Soon, she was given the opportunity to lead our box in Aalsmeer, managing the incoming flower flow efficiently.
Back to Rijnsburg: the expert in ‘zoek’
Two years later, Gerda returned to our headquarters in Rijnsburg, where she took on a crucial role in the so-called ‘zoek’. This required someone with expertise to check overdue orders and resolve issues. Thanks to her experience in distribution, Gerda handled this role with excellence.
Passion for distribution
Ultimately, Gerda found her way back to her true passion: the distribution of incoming flowers. Here, she enjoys a dynamic and varied job, working closely with buyers and line drivers. Her years of experience and knowledge make her an indispensable part of the team.
A milestone to celebrate
Gerda has now reached a special milestone: 25 years of service at Heemskerk Flowers. A remarkable achievement! She has carved out a fantastic position for herself among all the men in logistics and is a valued colleague and pillar of strength for many.
Gerda, thank you for your years of dedication and commitment. Here’s to many more flourishing years!
