A robust flower

There are around 1,000 different varieties of Cymbidiums in total, some more beautiful than others. The Cymbidium is a strong cut orchid that originates from the Himalayan mountains, where the weather is unpredictable and nature rocky. This makes it a robust flower that retains its elegance even in harsh conditions.

A branch full of flowers

The Cymbidium is easily recognised by its long branch full of flowers, spread along the entire length of the stem. Small-flowered Cymbidiums have a stem length of 30 to 70 cm, while the branches of large-flowered varieties can reach 40 to 100 cm in length. Depending on the stem length, up to 25 flowers can sometimes grow on them.

Symbolism

This tropical flower symbolises pure, valued, grateful and respected friendship. Giving and receiving this flower is seen as an honour. Nowadays, its colourful beauty is also often incorporated into bridal bouquets, adding to its modern meaning: 'Fairy tales come true'.
